A look into the VA training programs in Australia

Based on our VA community’s feedback we have developed a list of some of the Virtual Assistant training programs in Australia. As founders of the Newcastle Virtual Assistants, we bring a combined experience of 16 years in the VA industry in Australia and have been researching this topic for the past 5 years. Our passion for the industry led us to personally meet with many of the trainers and trial various training programs ourselves to ensure we recommend only the best to our community of VAs and provide valuable insights and knowledge.

Most of the organisations recommended below, provide training for those who are looking to start their VA business or VA’s who are growing so we hope there is something in here for you, no matter where you are on your VA life journey.

Whilst we have provided some suggestions below it is crucial that you always do your own research!

Somethings to consider or think about:

  • Do you have a criteria for the training you need?

  • Do you want self-paced training?

  • Do you want face to face or virtual training?

  • Do they have a payment plan?

  • Do you want a trainer with qualifications?

  • Do you want a trainer with lived experience as a VA or a business owner?

  • How long has the training program existed?

  • How long will you have the course access for?

  • Do you want the training to include a community (i.e. a FB group)?

Some other hot tips:

  • Ask other VAs what they have done, where they have gone, what did they like and not like.

  • Book a discovery call with the business you’re interested in. Ask all the questions before you commit. See if they are the right fit for you. Do you resonate with their key values?

Here are the recommendations we have crowd-sourced for you:

There are also niche specific training programs like the NDIS admin training programs available through Positively Sorted.

This list is just a starting point, we will add to it as we come across new and exciting training options for our community. Please remember, we can give you options. but research is the key. Take the time to research these programs, consider your goals, and choose the one that aligns best with you and your business.

If you would like to chat through any of these options, you can come along to one of our monthly coffees or book some time with Jane who specialises in one-on-one mentoring for your Virtual Assistant business, and she will happily discuss and recommend some good options for you. To connect with Jane and find out more simply go to her website here - www.thejaneedit.com.au/mentoring

If you have you had a good experience with another provider, we’d love to hear about it and we can update our resource!
